The Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). This partnership marks a positive step forward in fostering academic, educational and research cooperation between the two organizations.
The primary objective of this MOU is to establish a close partnership between GIPA’s Environment Management and Policy Master’s Program and CNF. This collaboration aims to enhance the academic experience and practical skills of GIPA students by involving them in various activities within CNF-supported Protected Areas.
As part of this agreement, students from the Master’s Program will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on projects and fieldwork in Protected Areas supported by CNF. This exposure will not only enrich their academic understanding but also equip them with essential practical skills that are crucial for their future careers in environmental management and policymaking.
This partnership is a significant milestone. It underscores GIPA’s commitment to providing a comprehensive education that bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. By collaborating with CNF, GIPA enhances its curriculum and provides its students with unique opportunities to contribute to the conservation and sustainable management of the Caucasus region’s natural resources.
This MOU represents a win-win scenario for both CNF and GIPA. CNF benefits from the fresh perspectives and energy of GIPA students, while students gain invaluable experience and insights from working on the ground in protected areas. This partnership is poised to make a meaningful impact on the conservation efforts in the Caucasus region, while simultaneously shaping the next generation of environmental leaders.
