Truso Protected Landscape corresponding to IUNC category V was established in 2021 in Kazbegi municipality and covers 7,007 ha. It is located on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, in the basin of the Tergi River. Truso protected landscape is rich in hydrocarbon mineral waters and is mainly characterized by mountain ranges, subalpine and alpine vegetation and meadows which along with the remains of historical villages represented in the area, create a fascinating natural-cultural landscape. Natural ecosystems and rich cultural heritage make the area one of the breathtaking destinations to visit.
