Arzakan—Meghradzor Sanctuary


Established in 1971, the Arzakan-Meghradzor sanctuary is located in Hrazdan forest in the Kotayk Region of Armenia. The sanctuary covers 13,532 hectares of mountain forest (mainly oak), valuable habitat for a number of animals including, Brown bear, Roe deer, and the Caucasian black grouse.

CNF Support

CNF has awarded €136,500 over three years (2012-2014). Funds will support basic park operations and living wage supplements for  park rangers and staff members  and a new management plan for the sanctuary.
