Aragvi Protected Landscape

Aragvi Protected Landscape was established in 2021 and covers 99,802 ha. It is located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, in the basin of the Aragvi River. Aragvi protected landscape corresponds to IUCN category V.

Aragvi protected landscape is characterized by peaks, mountain ranges, glaciers, deep and wide river valleys, which are harmoniously combined with small settlements of mosaic mountains, fields, and meadows. Historical-cultural heritage, diversity of natural ecosystems, endemic plant and animal species, large predators make the area one of the stuning place.
