Friends and partners of the Caucasus Nature Fund gathered in Tbilisi on June 20th to honour David Morrison for his work as Executive Director, and to welcome his successor Geof Giacomini to Tbilisi. An evening reception was held at the new premises of Caucasus Nature Jewels on Tbilisi’s Shardeni Street, and was attended by CNF advisory board members, representatives of CNF’s partner organizations, the head of Georgia’s Agency of Protected Areas and the Georgian Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection.
Guests were treated to a selection of Georgian wines and music by Georgian folk ensemble Ertoba, who performed the traditional Mravaljamieri (‘Many Years’) in David’s honour.
“In the 8 years that David has led CNF,” said Geof, “he has touched the lives not only of everyone in this room, but countless others who work to conserve the precious natural resources of the Caucasus. What he has done, with your support, has given CNF deep and strong roots that will allow us to continue to flourish. Thank you David”!
