Georgia Takes Conservation Tech Global!

Thanks to the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF)’s continued commitment to innovation, representatives from CNF, the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, the Agency of Protected Areas (APA) and Machakhela National Park participated in the inaugural Applied Conservation Technology Congress (ACT Con 2025)!

Held on November 3–7 in Hanoi, Vietnam, ACT Con 2025 served as a global platform, bringing together up to 500 participants from 70 countries and more than 250 organizations.

The Congress highlighted how technologies like SMART (Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool)—which CNF actively deploys across Georgia’s Protected Areas—can transform field operations, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and improve protected area management.

By joining this crucial international forum, Georgia’s delegation contributed to and learned from global experiences, reinforcing CNF’s long-standing efforts to integrate technology and further enhance the effectiveness of Georgia’s Protected Area system. We look forward to scaling up these technologies, including the expansion of SMART to Protected Landscapes starting in 2025!
