On October 8th, we marked a successful conclusion of the GEF/UNDP project “Enhancing Financial Sustainability of the Protected Area System in Georgia” implemented by the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) in close collaboration with the Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia and the Biodiversity and Forest Department under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The project was launched in April, 2019 and finished in September, 2024.
Key discussions during the closing event included: 🌿 Overview of the project’s implementation and results 🌿 Project impact and sustainability of achievements 🌿 Terminal evaluation findings and recommendations 🌿 Panel discussions on financial sustainability, adaptive management and biodiversity monitoring in the Protected Areas.
The event facilitated valuable exchanges on follow-up actions, challenges, lessons learned and new opportunities amongst the partners and stakeholders.
CNF remains committed to continue working towards the protection of Georgia’s unique natural heritage within the target protected areas. 🌍🌱
