Elizabeth Messud, Executive Director of CNF, and Arman Vermishyan, Director of the CNF Armenian Representative Office, visited the Zangezur Biosphere Complex SNCO of the Ministry of Environment within the framework of a two-day working visit to the Syunik Region.
Accompanied by Arman Mkrtchyan, Director of the SNCO, the team visited Areviq National Park, Shikahogh State Reserve and Sosi Purak Reserve. During the visit, Arman Mkrtchyan presented footage of a female Caucasian leopard recently recorded in the territory of the national park, the discovery of which in the region is a significant positive development as previously only the presence of male leopards has been recorded.
The visit ended with a meeting at the office of the team of the Zangezur Biosphere Complex. There was lively discussion on a range of topics, including the possibility of establishing a working group of Communications specialists to support in creating better tools to highlight the work of the PA’s.
